Wood, Awad, Schneider lead 2015-16 ACI officer slate

ACI elected officers and directors during its spring convention in Kansas City. Sharon Wood, FACI, has begun a one-year term as president. Dean of the University of Texas, Austin, Cockrell School of Engineering and ACI member since 1983, she serves on Committee 318, Structural Concrete Building Code, and has served as past ETC Product Development Committee chair, ACI Foundation trustee, plus Financial Advisory and International Advisory Committee member.

Khaled Awad was elected ACI vice president for a two-year term. Founder of ACTS, a Beirut-based material and geotechnical consulting firm, he chairs ACI Subcommittee 601-E, Concrete Construction Sustainability Assessor, and serves on the Task Group on Managing Translations of ACI Products and Services, Certification Programs Committee, International Certification Subcommittee, plus Committees 130, Sustainability of Concrete and C630, Construction Inspector Certification.

Baker Concrete Construction Vice President of Operations Michael Schneider, who heads the Concrete Industry Management National Steering Committee, was elected ACI senior vice president for a two-year term, while four Institute members were named to three-year board terms: JoAnn Browning, FACI, dean and David and Jennifer Spencer Distinguished Chair of the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Engineering; Cesar Constantino, FACI, director of Business Development for Titan America’s Separation Technologies, LLC business; Kimberly Kayler, president of Constructive Communication, Inc., Dublin, Ohio; and, Roberto Stark, FACI, president of Stark+Ortiz, S.C., a Mexico City consulting firm providing structural design services for urban and infrastructure projects.
