Results from a survey gauging staff sentiments on daily work activities, impressions of management and company direction earned one of the Midwest’s premier ready mixed producers inclusion in the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces for 2014.
Across a survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics, Ozinga Bros. scored over 25 percent ‘strongly positive’ impressions, and over 50 percent ‘positive’ impressions. More than 75 percent of respondents ‘agree’ or ‘strongly agree’ that the Mokena, Ill.-based producer operates by strong values and ethics. On key points of Direction, Execution, My Work, Connection, My Manager and Benefits, scores were between 13 and 45 percent above the survey’s industry benchmark levels.
Presented by one of the country’s leading daily newspapers, Top Workplaces recognizes Chicagoland companies for great work environments. Rankings reflect evaluations based solely on employee opinions. “It is an honor to be among the companies on this list,” notes Tim Ozinga, a member of the fourth-generation family leadership team. “We believe recognition and education are the key to maintaining a strong workforce, and we’re willing to invest in our team to develop leadership.”
Throughout the year, Ozinga Bros. holds special events, luncheons and awards ceremonies to reinforce family values and ensure that all coworkers are up-to-date on company happenings. “Creating a family atmosphere is extremely important to us,” affirms Marty Ozinga IV, co-owner and president. “We believe that our coworkers are part of the family and are excited to see the survey results reflect that our efforts have not gone unnoticed.”
