NPCA 2015 Sustainability Awards call for entries

NPCA is accepting through December 15 entries for the 2015 Sustainability Awards, spotlighting achievements producer and associate members have realized in projects or plant operation practices, including energy and water management; recycling, product waste reduction and packaging optimization; substitution of non-renewable materials; vehicle efficiency; biodiversity and conservation; employee training or social support programs; supply chain initiatives; and, Environmental Product Declaration preparation.

The competition spans Best Project and Best Company/Plant categories for producer and associate members. Each entry project or practice must have been initiated or completed within five years of the submittal deadline. Any non-winning entry may be submitted for one subsequent year. Entries are to include 1) up to 200-word executive summary accurately representing the project or practice for promotional purposes; 2) up to 1,000-word description of how the project or practice meets the program’s criteria of benefits, innovations, wider applicability and employee participation; 3) up to 10 photos or illustrations saved as separate jpeg files; and, 4) signature of company principal or director.

A judging panel will be composed of three NPCA Sustainability Committee members, plus two outside experts from academia and industry. Entries can be made online here.
