Masonry Check Off-Friendly Lawmaker Visits Nacco

GA-Nacco-400Hyster Co. and Yale Materials Handling Corp. parent Nacco Materials Handling Group, Inc. (NMHG) recently hosted Representative John Shimkus (R-IL-15) for a tour of its Danville, Ill., operation.

“We felt it was important the congressman experience first-hand the company’s leadership and emphasize our commitment to manufacturing excellence,” says Vice President, Aftermarket Paul Laroia. “NMHG is a leader in the lift truck industry and its presence in the Danville community has an immense influence on its economic potential. By showcasing the company’s importance, we believe [Rep. Shimkus] understands the role we play in this tight-knit community.”

In addition to acknowledging hard-working constituents, Rep. Shimkus has shown sensitivity to NMHG customers, sponsoring the Concrete Masonry Products Research, Education, and Promotion Act of 2013. A priority item for the National Concrete Masonry Association and allied groups, the legislation enables a stakeholder referendum on the creation of an industry-administered check-off program.GA-NaccoPC-400
