Aiming to eclipse a record $810,000 grossed earlier this year, organizers of the 10th annual auction benefitting Concrete Industry Management undergraduate and graduate degree programs are soliciting equipment, material, travel and sports entertainment package donations for silent, online and live bidding. Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers will conduct the event at the Las Vegas Convention Center on February 4—the second day of 2015 World of Concrete.

“The National Steering Committee was pleased the 2014 World of Concrete Auction surpassed the previous year’s proceeds by almost $200,000,” says CIM Auction Committee Chairman Michael Philipps (Cemex USA). “This is yet another example of the high value the concrete industry places on the CIM program.”

“The Committee has raised more than $4 million through nine auctions,” adds CIM Marketing Committee Chairman Brian Gallagher, acknowledging the event’s support from World of Concrete management, Hanley Wood Publications and Ritchie Bros., along with mixer truck manufacturer McNeilus Cos., source of the auction’s perennial top ticket item.

Auction proceeds support CIM programs at Middle Tennessee State University; California State University, Chico; New Jersey Institute of Technology; and, Texas State University. Past auction items have included cement loads, skid steers, concrete saws, drills, site mixers, mix vibrators, scaffolding, safety equipment, screeds, fiber transport systems, dust collectors, decorative concrete tools, water meters, pumps, generators, training sessions, laptop or mobile computers, sports memorabilia, and sports or leisure travel packages.
