PCA is accepting through June 30 entries for the 14th biennial Bridge Awards competition, recognizing excellence in design and construction of cast-in-pllace or precast concrete crossings. Eligible structures are highway, rail, transit, pedestrian or wildlife crossings essentially completed between October 2011 and September 2013, and located in the U.S. or Canada.

In addition to new short, medium or long span crossings, reconstructed or widened structures also qualify for the competition. Any organization, public or private, can enter and submit multiple entries. Based on judging by industry professionals, awards will recognize creativity and skillfulness in bridges’ structural, functional, aesthetic, sustainable, and economic design. Consideration will also be given for innovative construction methods, including accelerating project schedules.

Entries can be completed and images uploaded here. Individuals, companies or agencies submitting winning projects will receive a commemorative plaque and recognition at the American Concrete Institute Fall Convention, October 26-30 in Washington, D.C.
