With seven block and paver plants in eastern Pennsylvania and Maryland, York Building Products has become the mid-Atlantic market’s largest concrete masonry source after closing on much of Martin Limestone’s New Holland Concrete business. “New Holland’s portfolio of products will help ensure the future growth of the York Building Products brand, and we are excited about the integration of products between the two companies,” says Jason Schmitz, vice president of Operations at York Building Products, York, Pa.
“The merging of the similar businesses provides a greater level of product offering for the two companies’ customers, across a broader market area,” adds Jeff Detwiler, president of Blue Ball, Pa.-based Martin Limestone. “We believe our customers and employees alike will be pleased with the future course of the company.”
In addition to a New Holland, Pa., block and paver plant, the transaction includes five Construction Supply Center stores in eastern Pennsylvania and commercial market-geared Door Solutions business. A subsidiary of New Enterprise Stone & Lime, Martin Limestone will maintain New Holland Concrete’s three ready mixed plants under their existing brand. Martin and York officials note that a common culture stemming from their family-owned companies factored in the transaction.
