The Strategic Development Council (SDC) is accepting through April 1 nominations for the Jean-Claude Roumain Innovation in Concrete Award, named for a longtime SDC member and Holcim (US) Inc. veteran who passed away in 2010.
Award candidates are those individuals who have 1) contributed to innovative developments in concrete mixture proportioning, production of concrete, and/or concrete construction; 2) contributed to the improvement in the manufacture of materials used in the production of concrete, and used existing and new materials in innovative ways to improve concrete construction and serviceability; and/or, 3) used concrete in innovative ways to contribute to a sustainable built environment.
Anyone may submit a nomination, and the recipient will be recognized at the American Concrete Institute’s fall 2014 convention, October 26-30, in Washington D.C. Nomination forms, guidelines and other program information are posted here.
