Convening in Las Vegas for the International Builders’ Show, the National Association of Home Builders presented its “Project of the Year Award for Green Site Development–Single-family Detached” to Clarence, N.Y.-based Natale Builders for Rivera Greens, a local subdivision whose 35 units bear on Superior Walls Xi precast foundations.

“These dry, energy-efficient wall panels help ward off heat loss and make the basement a more comfortable area for extended living and storage space in the home throughout the year,” says Natale Builders General Manager Larry LaDuca. “We constructed each Rivera Greens home from the ground up with green-building practices and products.” The homes meet National Green Building Standard certification requirements, he adds, and represent the first New York development to receive the NAHBGreen Award.

Licensee Superior Walls of Upstate New York, Lima, fabricated the reinforced Xi panels with 5,000 psi mixes, thorough vertical and horizontal rebar placements, 2.5 in. of Dow Styrofoam, insulated corners and bond beams, plus drywall-ready galvanized steel studs. The insulated precast wall systems have earned the National Green Building Standard Green Certified Product designation from Home Innovation Research Labs (formerly NAHB Research Center).
