Oldcastle Precast has closed on the assets of Santa Rosa, Calif.-based KriStar Enterprises Inc., including three California plants, plus intellectual property spanning specialized concrete stormwater management and water pollution control structures or devices.

“This will strengthen [our] position in stormwater management throughout the U.S.,” says Oldcastle Precast National Sales President Ray Rhees. “It will accelerate our ability to offer hydrodynamic separators, media filtration, drain inlet protection and LID products across the nation.”

“The joint collaboration combines the expertise and experience of the national sales, engineering and marketing teams of both Oldcastle and KriStar, and will only serve to enhance the customer service experience,” adds KriStar CEO Doug Allard.

Founded in 1993, KriStar has developed innovations to meet rigorous and evolving federal, state and local water pollution control regulations. Oldcastle Precast will focus on marketing conveyance, storage and treatment solutions to regulators, owners, and civil and environmental engineers nationwide. The KriStar transaction follows its successful launch of StormCapture detention and retention products, and rounds out a treatment train solution civil engineers, owners and contractors seek to bring projects into compliance.

Oldcastle Precast will offer the industry’s largest breadth of product, including KriStar’s well-known FloGard Dual Vortex, FloGard PerkFilter and Bio-Mod brands. “The addition of these proven technologies, combined with our commitment to leadership in stormwater management, will allow owners and engineers a single source for design and selection of the optimal stormwater solutions for their projects,” says Oldcastle Precast President Dave Steevens, adding that the company will continue to manufacture a broad range of stormwater products and alternative technologies marketed and sold by existing partners.
