The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Technology Implementation Group (TIG) is reviewing product, material and equipment candidates for the TIG Lead State Team and Peer-to-Peer deployment model. The AASHTO Standing Committee on Highways established TIG to champion best practices among state and local agencies and industry partners to improve the nation’s transportation system.
Selected technologies have achieved preliminary implementation success and promise to benefit more states. Previous TIG technologies have included a) Embedded Data Collector, a wireless system of gauges that monitors concrete pile installations for bridge foundations and relays signal for real time field analysis; b) UPlan, a powerful Web-based mapping and informational tool that can be used for complex planning and project development tasks, and allows data sharing among various units within a state transportation agency; c) Utility Relocation Electronic Document Management System, improving communications within agencies, as well as with municipal and utility partners; and, d) PaveSuite, an evaluation tool suite including Enhanced Pavement Test Data Analysis Methodology, which is an alternative method of analyzing data from nondestructive testing, and Automated Faulting Method, software used with high-speed inertial profilers to simulate faulting in jointed concrete pavement.
