Free registration for Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for Concrete, Noon–1:30 EST on March 21, can be obtained by clicking here. The webinar will cover a key aspect of the forthcoming green building rating methods: third party-certified reports in which producers and manufacturers provide comparable information regarding environmental performance of their materials, products or service.
Well established in overseas markets, EPD are starting to appear in North America as the common methodology for such assessment. The U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED v4, scheduled for release later this year, and 2030 Challange for Products, a guideline issued in 2011, stipulate EPDs. In addition to declarations, the webinar will cover the related topics of Life Cycle Assessment and Product Category Rules. Presenters will also spotlight NRMCA’s EPD Program, which enables concrete producers to meet documentation guidelines for their mixes. Additional information can be obtained from NRMCA Senior Director of Sustainability, Codes and Standards Tien Peng, 206/913-8535; [email protected].
