Campaign and economy keynotes, Driver Championship, tech sessions load ConcreteWorks

University of Virginia Center for Politics’ Dr. Larry Sabato and Mercer University Professor of Economics Dr. Roger Tutterow will offer their take on this election and business cycle during opening keynote presentations at the 2012 ConcreteWorks Conference and Expo, September 16–19 in National Harbor, Md., bordering Washington, D.C.

ConcreteWorks will kick off with the National Mixer Driver Championship, staged on the grounds of host venue, Gaylord National Resort, followed by an evening reception and two days of business and technical sessions scheduled around networking events in a 14,000-sq.-ft. hall with equipment, material and service provider exhibits.

The sessions span topics presented on behalf of the NRMCA committees behind ConcreteWorks: Business Administration, Operations, Environmental & Safety, Research, Engineering & Standards, and Educational Activities. Session themes include “Market Opportunities and Challenges for RCC”; “2012 NRMCA Industry Data Survey”; “Washington Insider Update on Employment Laws that Impact Your Business”; “50 Ways to Super-Charge Your Plant”; “Staying in the Game with LEED v4 and the New Green Construction Code (IgCC)”; and, “Quality Control—The Untapped Profit Center.”
