The annual ICPI Industry Sales Survey indicates a 2.7 percent increase in total U.S. paver sales and 7 percent increase in Canadian paver sales from 2010 to 2011. The survey reflects an approximately 79/21 split between residential and commercial/industrial market sales. Permeable pavers represented just over 5 percent of 2011 industry shipments and trended the same end use markets as conventional interlocking products.

The survey represents the most accurate and up-to-date sales information available for the North American segmental concrete pavement industry, ICPI contends. It encompasses data from 69 producers reporting shipments of ASTM- and CSA-grade pavers compiled by Industry Insights, a professional services survey firm specializing in trade and professional organizations. The complete survey, including sales data for the North American concrete masonry and segmental retaining wall industries, is available for $99 plus shipping and handling (less discounts for ICPI members). It can be ordered at 412/741-1892, or through www.icpi.org.
