ICPI launches residential concrete paver installer course

Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute has announced a course for contractors specializing in advanced segmental concrete pavement systems in the residential market, the first session scheduled this month during The Precast Show/Icon Expo in Orlando.

The Residential Paver Technician course provides training in residential paver installations and covers some of the hottest topics in outdoor living space design and construction. Specifically, participants will learn specialty applications such as raised and multi-level patios, fireplaces, fire pits, grills, outdoor kitchens, pool decks and permeable interlocking concrete pavement.

“ICPI developed the course in response to overwhelming industry demand for advanced education for the residential market,” said ICPI Contractor Education Subcommittee Chairman and Garden Square Landscaping President Ross Causey.

Content has been assembled by some of the industry’s top contractor instructors, he adds, and is intended to build on the knowledge introduced in the Concrete Paver Installer Course. The two-day course consists of classroom training; upon successful completion of an exam, a participant receives a Record of Completion. A Residential Paver Technician designation can be added to Concrete Paver Installer Certification if the participant also meets the minimum installation experience requirement.

This program is approved for 13 ICPI Installer Continuing Education credits. The course fee is $350 ($250/ICPI members) and includes a student manual and exam. Additional information and registration details can be obtained at www.icpi.org.
