NLRB sets January deadline for organizing rights posting notice

The National Labor Relations Board has postponed from November 14 to January 31 the implementation date of a workplace posting notice to allow for enhanced education and outreach to employers, especially those who operate small and medium-sized businesses. Posting of the 11- x 17-in. notice is mandatory for all private employers bound by the National Labor Relations Act. The poster details NLRA protocol for employees and employers.

NLRB noted that the decision to extend the rollout period followed queries from businesses and trade organizations indicating uncertainty about which businesses fall under the Board’s jurisdiction, and was made in the interest of ensuring broad voluntary compliance. The notice is available as a free pdf download from the www.nlrb.gov site; printed copies can be ordered by mail from regional offices. — [email protected] or 866/667-NLRB
