Leading into C09 Committee on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates meetings in Tampa, Fla., a December 4 symposium will examine pervious pavement mixes and hardened slab properties. Scheduled presentations will cover such topics as surface durability; use and intention of ASTM C1701 Standard Test Method for Infiltration of In Place Pervious Concrete for field permeability; density and voids of freshly delivered material; use of admixtures to improve pervious attributes; and, correlations of field cores to measurements from ASTM C1688 Standard Test Method for Density and Void Content of Freshly Mixed Pervious Concrete.
Timed with a marked increase in pervious concrete pavement demand across traditional and new geographic markets, the event will take place at the Tampa Marriott Waterside in conjunction with the December 4–7 C09 meetings. Co-chairing Symposium on Pervious Concrete are Middle Tennessee State University Professor and Concrete Industry Management Director Heather Brown, Ph.D., [email protected], 615/904-8060; and W.R. Grace’s Matthew Offenberg, [email protected], 404/379-0258.
Online registration (ASTM members, free; $50, nonmembers) for Symposium on Pervious Concrete runs through November 30 and can be completed here. Additional information can be obtained from ASTM’s Hannah Sparks, [email protected], 610/832-9678.
