A strategic partnership and multi-year contract production agreement with Newnan, Ga.-based RettCo Steel LLC enables ASW to continue supplying prestressing strand to its concrete producer customers in Eastern and Midwestern markets, while idling equipment at its Cleveland headquarters plant.
Effective October 1, the partnership also affords ASW a Southeast regional presence from RettCo’s Atlanta-area operation. Anchoring the market development will be newly appointed ASW sales and technical service representative Ronald Mann; a 35-year PC strand industry veteran, he will be based in Jacksonville, Fla.
“Our relationship with RettCo will give us the opportunity to continue serving our traditional customers and to serve new ones, [and] substitute our older machinery with RettCo’s modern equipment,” says ASW President and CEO Timothy Selhorst. While there are no immediate plans to disassemble the PC strand equipment in Bedford Heights, he notes, the space could be used to expand premium spring wire production.
Citing ASW’s strong reputation in the marketplace, RettCo President Barry Retter adds, “I believe we’ve found the right partner to leverage what we do best: making high-quality and dependable PC strand at a competitive cost.”
