The CIM National Steering Committee is accepting concrete material, equipment and service donations for its annual auction, staged on day three of World of Concrete in Las Vegas. Proceeds from the seventh annual auction—January 25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center—will benefit Middle Tennessee State University’s charter CIM four-year bachelor of science degree program and new Executive MBA offering for the concrete industry, plus CIM undergraduate programs at Arizona State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Texas State University, and California State University, Chico. A silent auction will run 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by live bidding.

The National Steering Committee seeks to eclipse next year the $500,000 raised at the 2011 World of Concrete auction. “[The Committee] has raised more than $2 million through the previous six auctions,” says CIM Marketing Committee Chairman Brian Gallagher, who especially credits the support of charter participants Hanley Wood Exhibitions and sister publications (World of Concrete show manager and hosts); McNeilus Cos. (annual mixer truck donation); and, Ritchie Bros. (online, silent and live auctioneering).

Past auction donations have included a range of concrete production, placement and finishing equipment and tools; raw materials; and, sports, recreation or travel event tickets or packages. Those interested in making a donation should contact CIM Auction Committee Chairman Gene Martineau, 904/735-5537, [email protected]
