An online, global platform for Cemex employees–combining elements of popular social networks and communications tools to encourage company-wide sharing of ideas and best practices–has won the Management: Collaboration System category in the Forrester Research Groundswell Awards. “We continue to empower employees by promoting engagement and collaboration beyond traditional roles and titles, allowing the best ideas to resonate and effect real change,” said Cemex Chairman Lorenzo Zambrano.
The “Shift” platform has grown to 17,500-plus staff participants since its January launch, with users building more than 500 virtual communities on topics ranging from best practices in environmental stewardship to streamlining supply chains to sharing sales successes. A “Value Propositions” community has 239 employee ideas posted, 118 in the process of adoption across the company.
The annual Forrester Groundswell Awards encompassed more than 130 entries in Business-to-Business, Business-to-Consumer, Management, and International categories. Cambridge, Mass.-based sponsor, Forrester Research Inc., is a consultant to global business and technology leaders.
