By introducing the Brick Back program to its facilities in Kentucky, Michigan, the Carolinas, Ontario and Quebec, Hanson Brick aims to advance sustainability by reducing on-site, landfill-bound construction waste. The free program accepts clean brick waste Û concrete block, wood, glass, steel or garbage are excluded Û at the original site of manufacture to be converted into ground, recycled material for addition to new product. Moreover, under MR credit 2.1 and 2.2 – Construction Waste Management, the Brick Back program contributes to U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design [LEED] certification.

We are confident that the Brick Back Program will encourage industry peers and the community to take larger strides toward a greener, more sustainable environment by actively recycling used materials, notes Hanson Brick Senior Vice President and General Manager Charlie Ward.
