ACI’s Fall 2010 Convention, scheduled for Oct. 24-28 in Pittsburgh, will offer more than 300 committee meetings and 30 American Institute of Architects (AIA)- and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)-approved technical sessions, plus forums, tours, and networking events for producers, engineers, architects, contractors, educators, and manufacturers collaborating on concrete industry codes, specifications, and standards. As the first green convention hall worldwide, Pittsburgh’s Westin Convention Center Hotel & David L. Lawrence Convention Center will provide a fitting venue for the event.
Prior to the convention on Oct. 23, Concrete Sustainability Forum III will be presented as the third in a series, recommended as a supplement to USGBC- and AIA-approved sessions (offering CEUs) for attendees seeking insight on concrete industry-related sustainability issues. The Oct. 26 ContractorsÌ Day Tour of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center–led by Mark Leahy, general manager of the facility–will showcase the building’s construction and maintenance. In addition, ContractorsÌ Day will feature a session titled IÌm Bidding a LEED Project. Now What? to address green construction opportunities and concrete myths.
