The Design 2010 Awards competition sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Precast Association (MAPA) is open to all projects featuring precast concrete from the past five years in the qualifying geographic area. Accordingly, Mid-Atlantic region building owners and designers are encouraged to nominate projects via an on-line entry form (www.mapaprecast.org), with August 21 deadline. Projects can be submitted in any of nine categories: Arena/Stadium, Bridges, Commercial, Governmental, Housing, Institutional, K-12 Schools, Parking Structures, and Technical Achievement.
Representing 12 major producers as the regional precast concrete trade organization for Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C., MAPA aims to promote the use of precast concrete in a wide range of projects and building types through the Design 10 Awards competition. Honorees are selected by a MAPA-designated jury of industry professionals. In September, awards will be presented formally to the winning architects, recognizing also the project’s owner and design/build team members. Inquiries may be directed to MAPA Executive Director Greg Winkler, 800/453-4447 or 856/667-2850; fax: 856/667-2853; [email protected]
