Amerimix, a Bonsal American brand, introduces SI 600 Core Fill Grouts designed for load-bearing masonry construction as well as vertical or horizontal reinforcement. ASTM C476-, ASTM 1019- and ACI 530-compliant, the grouts offer the advantage of preblended bagged product in 80-lb. bags or 3,000-lb. bulk bags, the company emphasizes, eliminating guesswork and inconsistency associated with field-mixed materials. Besides batch-to-batch consistency, SI 600 grouts reportedly provide good workability and low shrinkage, as they improve job-site efficiency with either 3,000-psi or 5,000-psi coarse or fine mixes.
Another recent addition to the Amerimix line is greencore 65=80, an environmentally friendly masonry/stucco cement concentrate said by product developers to combine the bond strength of mortar with stucco’s workability. Patented greencore 65=80 requires 19 percent less material than conventional alternatives, e.g., a 65-lb. bag of the product mixed with sand on a job site yields the same amount of mortar as a typical 80-lb. bag of masonry or stucco cement. It may also be used where portland and lime applications are specified. Greencore 65=80 is formulated for lower air content to help eliminate voids and bubbles, the manufacturer notes, and offers improved curing and better finishing due to its high moisture retention. Available in 65-lb. bags, it can be pigmented for architectural specifications.
