Driven by small, custom jobs for public or private customers around New York City, All County Mobile has proved equal to erratic scheduling, waste and washout minimization, and special mix requirements for Liberty Island visitorsÌ center work. To help advance National Park Service LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating goals for the project, the volumetric mixer operator prepared to meet a mix design based on high recycled content materials. The producer enlisted Holcim (US) Inc. to supply a blended cement–60 percent Type I, 40 percent GranCem–in supersacks to ease loading and handling at its yard. Holcim processes the ground granulated blast furnace slag at a Delaware River operation across from downtown Philadelphia. The footing and slab mix design has seen 7-day cylinder breaks of 5,400 psi.
