NRMCA has recognized a 20-year partnership with Knife River Corp. that has seen shipment of at least 50,000 Mentor Driver Program VHS tapes and DVDs, plus attendance by hundreds of delivery professionals at more than 50 NRMCA-sponsored Mentor Driver training sessions. During its 2010 convention in Austin, Texas, the association presented an award honoring the partnership to Knife River Director of Learning Services Dan Abbott and Assistant Director of Learning Services Steve Tupper.
Launched by the producer’s predecessor business, Oregon-based Morse Bros., the Mentor Driver library has grown to 93 15-minute DVDs, each one featuring a delivery professional presenting an easy-to-remember skill set to improve daily job performance. The format has enabled subscribers to return repeatedly to the series for ongoing training; however, NRMCA figures that even if each Mentor Driver title sold were viewed only once, the net training would exceed 8,000 hours. Additional information on the training series can be obtained from NRMCA Vice President, Education Eileen Dickson, [email protected].
