Columbia Machine, Inc. has introduced the SHP5000c big board concrete products model, citing low-noise features and efficiency that enable operation at about 40 percent less energy than comparable block and paver machines. Equipped for a host of pavement, hardscape and building unit production, the new machine carries the Columbia/Techmatik brand, reflecting an expanded relationship between Vancouver, Wash.-based Columbia Machine and Techmatik S.A. of Radom, Poland. The companies introduced cobranded, big-board machine molds in 2008 for the North American market. Concurrent with the SHP5000c domestic rollout, Columbia is now extending the cobranded mold sales in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Columbia officials report a well-established and loyal following of mold customers, and greater capacity potential by joining forces with Europe’s third-largest big board mold supplier. Our partnership with Techmatik has been extremely successful, and we are looking forward to even more opportunities to develop new products for the concrete products industry, affirms Columbia Vice President Dave Sharp.
