Following last year’s launch in northern California, Seattle and Portland markets, Quikrete is expanding availability of its Green Concrete Mix to Denver; Salt Lake City; Columbus, Ohio; and, New England. The blended, 3,500-psi design strength dry mix contains 50 percent recycled materials, including crushed concrete aggregate and fly ash or slag cement supplementary binders. The recycled content equates to 0.25 cubic ft./60-lb. bag diverted from landfill volume. Quikrete promotes Green Concrete Mix for general work, noting that the formulation qualifies for rating points under the LEED Recycled Concrete and Regional Material classifications.
