RMC Foundation’s newest publication offers ready mixed producers performance-based metrics to measure and demonstrate the sustainability of their operations, plus specific guidance on how to assess energy and resource consumption for continuous plant improvement. Sustainable Concrete Plant Guidelines was compiled by West Main Consultants and William Twitty, Jr., with guidance from National Ready Mixed Concrete Association Senior V.P.-Sustainable Construction Lionel Lemay. They have released the document as an evolving work to be refined and expanded on the basis of industry feedback.

These Guidelines are a great tool for producers to identify ways to enhance their manufacturing processes to make concrete even more sustainable, notes RMC Foundation Chairman Jim Repman (CalPortland). The document and supporting materials are available for download; comments can be directed to Lionel Lemay at [email protected].
