EPA is seeking nominations for a Small Business Advocacy Review Panel that will assist in developing the agency’s 2010 proposed rule for clay brick, roof tile and structural product plantsÌ hazardous air pollutants. The agency, which previously selected panel members in consultation with the U.S. Small Business Administration, has opened the nomination process to small businesses, noting these entities account for an estimated 82 percent of companies operating brick kilns. EPA is revisiting air-borne toxins for brick and structural clay products after regulations issued in 2003 for such facilities were nullified by a federal court order.
