Ensuring accuracy, reliability and durability in monitoring and totaling water-add to concrete batches on mixer trucks, the manufacturer affirms, CoolPoint Mobile vortex shedding flowmeters are electronic devices that incorporate no moving parts, such as paddle wheels or turbines, to stick or coat. The nonmechanical units are designed to prevent particulate blockage and typical concrete-truck flowmeter problems, such as compressed air over-ranging, acid wash, and meter hang-up caused by entrained dirt. Further helping achieve correct water content for optimal batch quality and strength, the company asserts, CoolPoint Mobile’s flow totalizer enables truck operators to control the total amount of water added to a batch. Flow accuracy of the meter is +/-1.5 percent of indicated total.
CoolPoint Mobile flowmeters feature 1-in. pipe and accommodate maximum flows of 50 gpm. Maximum operating pressure is 300 psi, and turndown is 10:1. The unit’s flow body is available in either brass or polysulfone. PVDF sensors and Viton seals are standard.
The flowmeters feature a bolt-on design for easy mounting on a concrete truck, and several flow display and electrical connector positions are available. Electrical wiring is simplified by use of a pin connector that is standard with the flowmeter. Three-digit flow totals are shown in a visual resettable display. Universal Flow Monitors
