Kenworth plans July production for the new mixer and dump-suited T470 truck, joining the company’s T800 and W900 workhorse models. The T470 is powered by a 9-liter Cummins ISL with 345 hp and 1,150 lb.-ft. of torque, and available with a range of manual and automatic transmissions; 12,000Ò22,000-lb. rated front axles; 21,000Ò26,000-lb. single rear axles; and, 40,000Ò46,000-lb. tandem rear axles. A fixed grille hood has a 50.5-in. bumper setting for front engine PTO installation, and allows for full extended rails to net a heat-treated, 120,000-psi steel frame without the need for cutouts. The T470 carries the multiplexed dash of other Kenworth Class 8 models, and features a large panel for body control and gauge installation.
