Nrmca Releases Pervious Concrete Mixture Proportioning Software

After more than a year of laboratory research work, NRMCA has developed a mixture proportioning software program for pervious concrete, especially aimed at helping users a) target design void content, critical to finished slabs’ water percolation; and, b) achieve an optimum paste of appropriate consistency to yield material that is neither too dry or too wet

After more than a year of laboratory research work, NRMCA has developed a mixture proportioning software program for pervious concrete, especially aimed at helping users a) target design void content, critical to finished slabsÌ water percolation; and, b) achieve an optimum paste of appropriate consistency to yield material that is neither too dry or too wet.

Accompanying the software are two documents: a guideline detailing pervious concrete mixture proportioning methodology and a research report providing experimental validation of that methodology based on NRMCA Research Laboratory testing. A special feature of this software program is that the mixtures can be designed for a void content that is close to that measured by the newly standardized ASTM C1688 Standard Test Method for Density and Void Content of Pervious Concrete.
