Midwest Block & Brick has added production capacity and additional showroom and distribution assets with its recent acquisition of Hill Thomas in East St. Louis, Ill., and Glenstone Block Co. in Springfield, Mo. Hill Thomas adds a rail-served, 3.5-acre brick and masonry supply yard at headquarters, plus Shiloh, Ill., showroom to Midwest Block’s St. Louis businesses, Kirchner Block & Brick and St. Louis Retaining Wall. The acquired properties will operate with the Midwest brand and report to East and Central Division Vice President and General Manager Daryl Weniger.
The Glenstone deal includes headquarters and Branson, Mo., block plants, specializing in gray, architectural and SRW products, and retail outlets; a third location, in Camdenton, Mo., will be merged with Midwest Products’ existing property in nearby Osage Beach. The Glenstone properties will adopt the Midwest brand and report to Southwest Division Manager Mike Ankrom.
Along with the Hill Thomas and Glenstone assimilation, Midwest Products has announced the rebranding of its Nattinger Block & Brick to the carry the Midwest Block banner.
