Chaney Enterprises of Waldorf, Md., has acquired the remaining 50 percent stake in Rowe Materials, a Fredericksburg, Va., ready mixed producer with whom it has been in partnership since 1995. The transaction includes four Virginia ready mixed plants, plus a building material supply outlet near headquarters, and positions the buyer to serve a market area from Ocean City, Md., to Orange, Va., through 15 plants.
Chaney Sales Manager Jeff Slagle has been named general manager of Rowe Materials, a brand that will be maintained. Mirroring its Maryland operations, Chaney Enterprises is committed to provideing Virginia customers the best people, finest products and accurate [delivery] information, affirms Slagle, who joined the company as a sales trainee in 1994 and proceeded to become its top salesman. Among near-term integration efforts, he adds, Rowe plants are scheduled to join the flagship’s recently installed, GPS-enabled dispatch platform.
