Portland Cement Association has named Susan Lane, P.E., program manager for bridges and other transportation structures. She will consult with engineers, contractors, and owners on the use of concrete for bridges, railroads, and other transportation structures throughout North America. Additionally, she will be responsible for conducting seminars and publishing materials to assist engineers in the design of concrete bridges and transportation structures, as well as managing related research and development projects.

National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has named Tom Carter senior vice president of Government Affairs. He will build on NRMCA’s solid advocacy foundation to enhance the industry’s visibility on Capitol Hill and increase the organization’s involvement in coalitions among groups of complementary aims. He joins the group from the American Chemistry Council, where he served as managing director for retail sustainability. Prior to that post, Carter spent 11 years as Portland Cement Association vice president of environment, health and safety.
