For the third consecutive year, the Sakrete Sack Program to combat homelessness will rally the combined efforts of Sakrete Û a bagged cement mix brand in North America owned by Oldcastle APG/Bonsal American, Inc. Û and several National Football League (NFL) teams. Participating in the 2008 program are the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills Radio, and Atlanta Falcons.

At the end of the regular season, the player with the most sacks from each participating team will have $5,000 donated in his name to HomeAid, a leading national nonprofit provider of housing for the homeless. The overall league sack leader will have $10,000 donated in his name.

Last year, the Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, Seattle Seahawks, and Atlanta Falcons raised $40,000 for HomeAid. The Panthers, Giants, and 49ers participated in the inaugural Sakrete Sack Program, which raised $12,500.

We are excited about continuing our relationship with the NFL teams to help tackle homelessness, affirms Sakrete President Johnsie Beck. This charitable program allows us to make a positive impact locally, because the money goes directly into the teams’ communities. Visitors to Sakrete’s website at www.sakrete.com/sack can follow the Sakrete Sack Program leaders throughout the regular season.
