The Tilt-Up Concrete Association has added Craig Keast as Membership Services director, responsible for assisting TCA membership-growth initiatives as well as a variety of services to aid existing members. He replaces Ben Saltzman.
National Concrete Masonry Association has named Gabriela Mariscal staff geotechnical engineer, a position charged with advancing the segmental retaining wall (SRW) and engineered hardscape markets through education, technical support, and the development, advancement, and promotion of design and construction resources. Her background spans commercial and residential geotechnical analyses and SRW design on projects throughout northern Virginia.
National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has named Amy Miller, P.E., national resource director for the Southeast region. Based in Jacksonville, Fla., she will report to Managing Director, National Resources, Dan Huffman, joining five NRMCA counterparts operating in all U.S. regions. She will contribute to the national focus on parking lot promotion, besides advancing all ready mixed concrete products with a special emphasis on NRMCA’s strategic National Accounts Program. While working primarily in the Southeast Region, Miller will interact with association clients and members across the country as needs warrant. She is a founding member and director of a chapter of the Florida Structural Engineers Association and is a Certified General Contractor in the State of Florida.
The Concrete Foundation Association recently presented its 2008 Contractor of the Year Award to Rich and Patty Kubica of K-Wall Poured Walls of Traverse City, Mich., and Asheville, N.C. This year’s award was presented at the CFA Annual Convention held in Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M. According to CFA Executive Director Ed Sauter, the Kubicas’ high level of enthusiasm and commitment to advancing the concrete foundations industry and CFA are primary reasons for their selection as Contractor of the Year.
