The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has reorganized its publications division, promoting or hiring six professionals to handle the publications

The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has reorganized its publications division, promoting or hiring six professionals to handle the publications and visual presentations used to communicate with PCI members, architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and other construction professionals.

The Editorial & Publishing Department is responsible for all internal and external communication, coordinating the production of new manuals, publications, educational and marketing materials, national advertising, and the PCI website. The reorganized publications team, working from PCI’s Chicago headquarters, includes:

  • Emily Lorenz, PCI Journal editor-in-chief, will assume the additional responsibility of PCI Editorial & Publishing Department managing director, responsible for collecting, organizing, and disseminating PCI technical and intellectual property, as well as managing its publications through both print and electronic channels.

  • Paul Grigonis, formerly PCI graphic designer, has been promoted to manager of art direction and production, accountable for the art and production team, plus print contracting, creative direction, and the Institute’s visual branding.

  • Keith Ulrich, formerly PCI manuscript editor, has been promoted to managing editor of nonperiodicals, responsible for meeting schedules and coordinating budgets for nonperiodical publications and ensuring consistent implementation of PCI editorial style guidelines.

  • Michelle Burgess, formerly PCI Journal associate editor, has been named the magazine’s managing editor, assigned to organize and schedule resources and information for each issue, ensuring that it meets deadlines and remains in accordance with applicable content and style guidelines.

  • Carrie Wyrick has been hired as technical editor, responsible for reviewing PCI manuals and the PCI Journal’s peer-reviewed, technical, and feature articles.

  • Rory Cleveland has been hired as publications copyeditor for PCI’s print and electronic material to work with the design and production team, editing all PCI-generated content for grammar and style.
