The Concrete Industry Management National Steering Committee is seeking donations for its fourth annual auction, scheduled for February 5, 2009, at the World of Concrete. Organizers aim to surpass the proceeds of this year’s auction, which raised approximately $540,000. Funds raised from the event, to be staged at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will benefit the CIM National Steering Committee and support its programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Arizona State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the California State University – Chico.

According to CIM Auction Chairman Wally Johnson (U.S. Concrete), the 2008 auction Û featuring live and silent bidding Û was a huge success. For the third consecutive year, the centerpiece of the event was a mixer truck donated by McNeilus Cos. and International Truck. Auction items included concrete saws, drills, mixers, vibrators, scaffolding, safety equipment, screeds, fiber transport systems, dust collectors, testing equipment, decorative concrete tools, water meters, pumps, generators, training sessions, reference books, advertisements, laptop computers, Nascar and Indy 500 event tickets, Dallas Cowboy tickets, autographed memorabilia from leading sports figures, sports travel packages, golf school packages, and vacation travel packages.

To make a donation for the 2009 auction, parties are encouraged to contact Wally Johnson at 713/499-6229 or [email protected].
