Mindful that a host of industry veterans who represent precast interests on model building code committees, the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Technical Activities Committee (TAC) has created Code Framework 2033. A long-term code strategy that focuses on the position that PCI wants to achieve over the next 25 years (by the year 2033), it aims to recruit volunteers to represent PCI on code and standard committees. It also represents what organizers note is a unique opportunity for individuals within member companies to gain expertise and rise to positions of influence.
Each new code representative will focus on a specific Framework 2033 goal and receive the full support and guidance needed from the appropriate PCI technical committee. In addition, the current code representatives are ready and willing to mentor new representatives to ensure that a historical perspective is understood and considered when proposing changes to codes. Candidates to oversee code committee activity in the following areas are encouraged to contact PCI committee staff liasons or the institute’s member services department, [email protected].
