Safety Vision has hired Russell Austen as director of engineering to manage the company’s in-house engineering department at its Houston headquarters campus, featuring on-site research & development, testing, and quality control labs. In league with Chief Technology Officer Christopher Fritz, he will steer concept development and system engineering for the company’s line of mobile digital video recorder (MDVR) systems and wireless data capture and management solutions with the aim of turning customer requirements into functional specifications and following through with implementation and accurate testing. Austen also will work closely with clientele and industry vendors, tracking current trends and anticipating future issues associated with MDVR components and technologies. Austen holds a patent for Digital Nonuniformity Correction for Image Sensors.
