Command Alkon CEO Ken Robinson (left) kicked off the company’s 2008 Customer Conference, April 22-24 in New Orleans, with a ceremonial donation to the local arm of a favored organization. New Orleans Salvation Army Area Commander Maj. Michael Hawley was on hand to accept the $20,000 gift from Robinson, who is on the board of the Salvation Army of Birmingham (Ala.).
Staged at Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel, the conference drew in excess of 600, including Command Alkon and JWS technology users. In addition to annual sessions covering program and module updates or modifications, the event saw the host unveil its latest product, Commandqc, representing a new generation of the former ConAd quality control/quality assurance software. Also during the conference, multiple speakers assured participants that beyond the current weak economic cycle are construction market conditions favoring what by 2015 could bring a 50 percent increase in concrete demand against the record volume of 2005-06.
