DIRECT BASEMENT ACCESS
According to the manufacturer, the PermEntry system maximizes and expands lower-level living space by adding safe, convenient access to the basement. In conjunction with the company’s basement doors, PermEntry comprises a one-piece, concrete ÎstairwellÌ suitable for residential applications. Thus, it offers a cost-effective way to provide direct basement access to any home, the manufacturer notes, whether adding a safe and direct route out of the basement or replacing leaky, wooden or unsightly metal doors.
Precast in one piece and vibrated for maximum density, the stairwell features high-tensile threaded rods and anchor bolts for securing the foundation. All concrete facing surfaces are sealed to ensure years of maintenance- and leak-free performance, product developers affirm. Delivered and installed by licensed dealers, PermEntry provides access to an extra floor of living space and satisfies emergency egress standards with a safe and dependable exit for occupants. The StrataGrid line of geosynthetic soil-reinforcement and slope-stabilization products is now offered in 18-ft. widths. Each 600-ft.-long panel covers 1,200 sq. yards of subsoil. Benefits of increased coverage include fewer rolls that installers must handle per job and fewer seams to be spliced between adjacent panels, the manufacturer notes. The geogrid fabric is made exclusively from high-tenacity, knitted polyester yarns in an array of grid aperture, strengths and designs, the company adds, to provide superior grade separation in segmental retaining wall and slope soil reinforcement applications. Moreover, StrataGrid needs only a simple overlap connection between end rolls. Strata Systems, Inc.
