After launching a new training website in 2007, the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association has added 21 new online courses covering health and safety as well as business subjects. Available through CSDA’s partnership with ProTraining.com, the new offering supplement five initial courses on flat sawing, wall sawing, core drilling, hand sawing and wire sawing.
Eleven new health and safety courses cover topics such as Personal Protection on Equipment, Walking and Working Surfaces, Job Site Safety, Driver Safety, Lock Out-Tag Out, and Hearing Protection. Ten business courses target subjects such as Dealing with Difficult People, Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, Communication, Sales & Marketing, and Negotiating. Each of the courses, available to any operator or employee around the clock, is offered at a cost of $49.00.
Participation in the online training programs has exceeded our expectations since the site was established, notes CSDA Executive Director Patrick O’Brien. The 700 completed courses represent 50 percent of the total number of classroom training courses since their 1993 inception. The addition of new courses will quickly make the online curriculum the top CSDA training resource.
A major factor in CSDA’s online training success, he adds, is the handling of testing, scoring and documentation for employees by a site administrator; and, the availability to owners of such data simplifies the task of office managers. Additionally, online training provides a solution for companies that cannot afford the time off and expense of sending operators to classroom courses. CSDA online training courses can be accessed by visiting www.csda.org or www.csdatraining.com. More information about training courses can be obtained from the association, 727/577-5004.
