David Vickers will serve as interim executive director of the CIM National Steering Committee (NSC), overseeing Middle Tennessee State University’s Concrete Industry Management program and supporting similar offerings at Arizona, California and New Jersey institutions. The four-year curriculum leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in basic construction management with an emphasis on concrete technology and techniques.
An advisor to the cement and concrete industry, Vickers replaces the first NSC executive director, Earl Keese, who has held the position since 2006. Vickers will work with planning and executive committees to quantify long-term NSC needs.
A charter NSC member, he brings 20-plus years of concrete industry experience. Prior to establishing his consulting business, he was president of Lehigh Southwest Cement Co. and H.G. Fenton Co., and Ameron vice president of operations. He has also been on the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association board for more than 20 years Û serving as chairman in 2002 Û and held positions on the Portland Cement Association board from 1995 to 2002.
