The National Concrete Masonry Association reports approval of a ASTM C 140 Standard Test Methods for Sampling and Testing Concrete Masonry Units and Related
The National Concrete Masonry Association reports approval of a ASTM C 140 Û Standard Test Methods for Sampling and Testing Concrete Masonry Units and Related Units reorganization to include a series of new annexes for specific concrete masonry products. The revised standard provides testing requirements tailored to specific product types through separate annexes for concrete masonry units, concrete brick, segmental retaining wall units, concrete pavers, concrete grid pavers, and concrete roof pavers. Also included are general testing guidelines for products that currently do not have a specific annex.
Future work most likely will include the creation of new annexes for additional product types, as well as revisions to current annexes to make the standard more useful. Detailed reporting requirements and sample test reports for each product will be incorporated to make reporting more consistent and ease verification of compliance with unit specifications.
