Wilmington, Del.-based Pioneer Concrete has opened a Delmar, Md., plant to provide ready-mixed and concrete pumping services for residential, industrial, highway and commercial contractors in Sussex County, Del., plus most of Maryland’s eastern shore. Production capacity of the Delmar facility is 180 yd./hour. Pioneer is the producer serving Sussex County to operate a front discharge mixer fleet.
We’re committed to providing customers with the quality products, on-time deliveries, and reliable concrete pumping services Pioneer has become known for, affirms George Whitworth, Delmar plant manager. The opening marks the fifth Pioneer Concrete plant in the region, joining locations in Wilmington, Bear and Dover, Del., as well as Avondale, Pa. The plant opening is the first expansion move for Pioneer since its early 2006 acquisition by Oldcastle Materials.
