The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has scheduled four courses within the Certified Concrete Sales Professional (CCSP) curriculum targeting ready mixed business and sales staff:

Module I: Introduction to Concrete Fundamentals: Concrete 101, Technical Product Knowledge, Sept. 10-13 Û Appropriate for nontechnical employees needing a general background in concrete, the course offers an overview of concrete fundamentals and component materials.

Module II: Understand the Concrete Contractor Business: Business Knowledge, Nov. 6-8 Û For sales reps, managers, and area managers, this course provides an overview of ready mixed concrete customers’ business model, specifically that of contractors in homebuilding, commercial and government construction.

Module III: Fundamentals of RMC Accounting, Finance and Business Law: Business Knowledge, Jan. 15-18, 2008 Û Entry-level, ready mixed industry-specific, financial workshop for managers and sales reps introduces break-even analysis, pricing fundamentals, cash flow, fundamentals of contract law/collection, and antitrust regulations.

Module IV: Professional Sales Skills Workshop, Dec. 4-7 Û Recognizing that a profitable business requires solving customers’ problems and building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, a highly interactive workshop enables mid-level ready mixed concrete staff to practice consultative skills.

Professionals passing all four courses will have completed the required portion of the STEPS, Sales, Marketing and Promotion Track. Only 32 additional credit hours are needed to earn the industy’s highest professional designation, Certified Concrete Professional (CCPf).
