The RMC Research Foundation has released Manual del Conductor de Mixer, a Spanish-language edition of one of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s primary educational titles, Truck Mixer Driver’s Manual. Foundation Trustees funded translation and production to help educate drivers who are new to the industry and increasingly coming from the Spanish-speaking community.
Although all drivers must be able to read English-language road signs and pass the commercial driver’s license test in English, we felt that translating this important tool into Spanish would aid those who are not fluent in English and help them to better understand the complexities of concrete mixers and the ready mixed industry, says RMC Research Foundation Chairman Dominique Calabrese (Lafarge North America).
The manual is the first of two Spanish-language publications the RMC Research Foundation is currently funding. Translation of NRMCA’s Concrete Delivery Professional (CDP) Program modules is under way, with Spanish-language editions to be released later this year.
